Everyone has to post up their sensible team selections (and perhaps a bit of reasoning behind it), then they can enter the slag the formation/selection conversation, with their own plan noted, but of course still the luxury of hindsight.

I hardly post my personal team selection beforehand, but I'd start N'dombele in there instead of Sissoko, for instance (should be a given, given that he's one of very few players in our squad that can actually get past a line of pressure). I'd also not start Aurier, and probably not start the same formation we keep on failing with time and again. There's no point playing 3 at the back with two wing backs when the back three isn't working particularly well, and the full backs are ... well, not performing at all. The system we've had success with demands a lot of our full backs, and we've seen for the past calendar year that when our full backs can't perform, we won't perform as a team with that formation. So I'd probably go for a formation where we'd depend less on our full backs giving us attacking depth and try a 4-4-2 or some variation of it, to get an extra man in midfield and play wider with our midfielders.

What's he to do? We're calling for him to change things and when he does, he gets criticised.

No diamond, no 4141, no 532.

Play 4231 constantly and pick proper teams with it.

Use ndombele as one of the two and not one of the 4 in the ridiculous 4141 he played at brighton.

Thats what he should have done after the positive display against palace but instead he dingdonged about for reasons that are utterly beyond me.

Now I fear the players have generally had enough of him and we have reached the point of no return.

A thorough stuffing at pool next week when he will probably go with 411121 is only going to deepen the issues further.

He has largely brought this complete disaster upon himself and he should now be ‘brave’ and resign.

getting defenders to mark their player would be a start, get our full backs closer to their wingers stop crosses at source may help

Don’t be stupid 411121 against Liverpool, it’s a diamond all the way, we made Gnabry look fudging goodly imagine what Mane and Salah are going to do, we should send the kids to watch the exorcist next Sunday, it will be less of a horror for them.

I’m genuinely afraid of what that Liverpool side will do to our shambolic assembly of want away coast monkeys.

it could be a cricket score and that’s no exaggeration.

A average Bayern team put 7 past us playing with wide men, Liverpool will make watching the exorcist like watching a Disney film in comparison.
