OMT Spurs vs Watford

Watford are yet to win this season. Time to go see Dr. Tottenham.....

The symptoms are very ominous...
  • Tottenham have won each of their last nine top-flight home games against Watford, including all six in the Premier League. Their record of six wins from six home games is their best such 100% home winning record in the Premier League.
  • Watford have won just one of their 12 Premier League meetings with Spurs (D3 L8), with that win coming at Vicarage Road in September 2018.
  • Since beating Arsenal 2-1 in January 2017, Watford have lost 16 consecutive Premier League away games against 'big six' opponents, scoring just nine goals and conceding 53 in return.

Definitely ditch the players who don’t want to be here. I’d tell them not to bother turning up again and that they’ll lose their wages as appropriate; whether that’s performance bonuses only as rest is too legally tangled. Time to make a stand, time to build squad harmony and only want motivated players here. Rest can fudge off.

I dreamt we won 9-0.
Llorente scored a brace.

Obviously ridiculous.
We'll never keep a clean sheet.

(But I now feel obliged to put a small bet on 9-0, as a just-in-case).

Pretty close to what I'd like. Hoping Poch gives the 4231 another go after some time off. Read Son may struggle as only flew in yesterday. Would have no issue if Lamela played instead - him, Moura and Alli should be fresh. We may see Foyth at RB. He played for Argentina there this week. That would mean Poch choosing 2 of Sissoko, Winks and Ndombele.

I really hope the crowd get behind the team and manager tomorrow

A fast start is needed !!!
Agreed - our mentality is so fragile right now - we need to really go after them and punish them and break their fragile spirit. We must not allow them a chink of encouragement. Kill or be killed.

Watching that training video yesterday it's amazing how every player can twist and turn and blast the goal into the corner, even Rose on his right foot. Yet come game day some of them can hardly pass it 20 yards let alone slot one into the corner.

Hopefully someone will throw the ball into the Watford goal... but you can be sure Ben Foster or (GHod forbid) Heurelho Gomes will put on their usual improbable world-beating display of goalkeeping and magically repel all shots.

Watford have got the worst record in the league for chances conceded away from home (average xGA 2.415, and their actual goal-concession rate is even worse at 3.000). If the game goes according to the stats (although so far this season only about half of them have), we'll win 2-1. That's the optimistic analysis. On the other hand, you might say their stats are skewed a bit by the 8-0 hammering they took at the Etihad....

I can only assume that you both haven't seen our defence this season (has anyone?).
