Juan Foyth

I think Skip needs those games now. I have watched him play for our under 23s and he is too good for that level. He isn't learning anything in those games. However it seems he's not yet properly trusted to play for our first team. Him going out and playing real football at a good level (the Championship is a good level and a very good barometer of whether a player will make it in the PL IMO) would tell Pochettino whether he has that final 5% that separates good youth players from proper first team players IMO.

Considering how bad we have been this season I am disappointed we havent seen Skipp given the opportunity, so I really wouldnt argue with you about it.

Was speaking more in general terms, he is young and theres value in him being with the squad - for a time. After which he needs to play, where you draw that line isnt worth disagreeing over.

This is what annoys me about Aurier, he has demonstrated he can do everything we require. He can be strong defensively, offer width and an outlet attacking, can cross a ball (albeit like most full backs consistently not great), but the does something ridiculous in between which fudges up all the good work he can/does do.....

i have always thought Aurier had the ability to be a very good player and had all the strengths you mentioned. But he does seem to do some crazy things on the pitch and it seems he is never going to grow out of that. Shame really.

... having the back 4 or 5 playing defensive (not trying to push up, not trying to overlap, providing width, etc.). Let the fudging defenders defend and use the amazing amount of attackers we have go score vs. having a system that somehow is expecting a KWP to make a difference to our attack.

Or we can play the wonky. One attacking full back (Rose or Sessegnon) to overload on that side, then 3 stay-at-home proper defenders (Jan Toby Foyth)

We then have all sorts of options with all the talent at our disposal.

Our full back options are a bit of a laugh really - Davies aside

Left back - Danny Rose- been poor for a while and loved to talk to media

Right back - KWP - not trusted
Foyth - CB
Serge - Clown Prince
Sanchez - CB

Tend to agree with this, Davies is the only one who looks like he knows what he is doing there.
I hope that Foyth can prove that he is good enough to play there as our regular RB. Not seen any of the Argie games but i believe he has done well.

Davies was funny/dreadful against Colchester in League cup game

(Heads up) I'm currently having problems getting on to this site - If you do not get a reply, that will be the reason

He starts at RB for a team that intentionally leave their best player out of the squad.

He’ll be a revelation for us when he’s fit, as long as Poch plays him in the right place of course.

i actually thought if there was to be a positional change it would be as a DM, he’s very good technically on the ball and should have a natural sense for danger and positioning as CB.

He’s probably the one played more games for Argentina at right back than he has first team club games in his career, so Argentina are either really, really short of right backs or he’s the new Cafu!!

He's barely played all season and was carrying an injury last season too, he's not spectacular but is generally pretty solid.

Yes, I agree in the main.
Your post/reply sounds like an epitaph to resent part of Pochettino tenure. So many long term injuries etc.

And a much better player then Rose ( imo).

I think Rose at his best is better than Davies at his best but he hasn't really hit the heights of his performances pre injury outburst bar the odd game and I'm not sure he'll ever get there. His concentration seems to have gone but that could just be the general team performing badly - he's not alone in losing his man.

Rose has been living on his form of a couple years ago since then he has been fading. Fans like him because he is " dynamic" which means because he throws himself to the ground to make tackles and some fans love it, but to be honest it usually means he has lost the man because of him not being aware of what is happening. All about opinions but as i have said Davies is a much better FB.
