wasnt Foyth close to a return on the weekend? maybe if Poch is rotating and KWP is still out then Foyth will play there.

Id like to see Dier get a game. We need some cover in Midfield so he needs some playing time in these kind of games where we can rotate a little.

---------------------------Lloris---------------------------

Foyth---------Sanchez---------Vertonghen-----Davies

--------------------Dier---N'Dombele---------------------

----Moura-------------Dele-----------------Son---------

------------------------Kane-------------------------------

Rested: Rose, Aurier ( Left at Home )
Bench: Winks, Sissoko, Lamela, Eriksen, Gazza, Wanyama, Parrott

Injured: KWP, Lo Celso, Sessengon,

No Sanchez for me. He’s been the definition of shaky so far this season. Don’t want to see him at centre back or GHod forbid right back. I’d rather stick Dier or Sissoko there.

I think he probably needs to play his way back to form, this would be a decent game for that. He remains our first backup at centre back and I don't think we can just play Alderweireld and Vertonghen until one of them gets injured and then throw Sanchez in with no match fitness.

Agreed at the moment, though it wouldnt surprise me if Foyth overtakes him this season and becomes our first choice back-up. That said, even if he does, there are games where you would want Sanchez rather than Foyth (e.g. away at Burnley)

Agreed. He's decent and certainly a very good squad player. But he's nowhere near Jan or Toby standards...and should def never a RB option again!
No surprise our most solid performance defensively came Sat when he wasn't playing.

I doubt that it would have made much difference against such poor opponents. The big improvement on Saturday was we were much quicker and more positive in attack.

It was. But I attribute that (in part) to how high up our FBs were. Aurier especially was clearly an effective attacking threat down that flank. Something we certainly wouldn't have had with Dav in the line up

Pleased that Aurier and Rose haven't travelled - would be good to have them, a couple CMs and 1 attacker 100% fresh for Leicester on Saturday

So, this is our first CL match of this season. After reaching the CL final last season which we lost, we need to aim to go all the way to win it this season. We have received a favourable draw in the group stage. We need to make use of it to progress to the next stage. This will be our first match against Olympiacos since 1973. The last time we met Olympiacos was in the 1973 UEFA Cup Second Round in which we beat them 4-0 at home and lost 1-0 away to progress to the next round. For the record, we also met Red Star Belgrade in the 1973 UEFA Cup and reached the semi final that season before losing to Liverpool. So, we had lost to Olympiacos away last time. Let's hope we will do better this time by beating them in this match.

We seem to have many options in attack now. We need to pick players on form rather than reputation. Kane needs to start despite being in bad form as he is our main striker. Son and Lamela scored against Palace, so they deserved to start this match. Eriksen has been in poor form so far this season. So won't mind if he doesn't start this season. Moura has not started too many matches this season. So, I think Moura deserves to start this match. Not sure if Alli is fully fit but if he is, then maybe he can come later in the match.

We don't seem to have a settled midfield due to injuries so far this season. Ndombele started the season well with a goal against Villa but then got injured after that. We still have not seen the best of Ndombele yet. Let's hope he will be fully fit to start this match. I think Sissokoe will be our best player to partner Ndombele in midfield. But apart from Sissoko, we also have Winks and Dier. I still think Winks needs to improve before becoming our regular starter in midfield. Dier has not player for us much for a few months now. Maybe Dier will become a backup player for our midfield from now on.

Our options seems to be very limited in defence. Our only reliable defenders are Vertonghen and Alderweireld. We always struggle in defence whenener any of them are injured. Sanchez are too error-prone to replace either of them. I think selling Walker and then Trippier will turn out to be one of the worst decision of Pochettino. We don't seem to have a proper replacement for them. KWP and Foyth make too many errors. Aurier did well against Palace but he needs to be more consistent in defence. Let's hope Lloris and our defence will be at their best to keep a clean sheet in this match.

Can see this being a tough match for us. Olympiacos have more experience playing in the CL than us. Can see them lifting their game against us at their home. Let's hope we will turn up with the right team and mentality to beat Olympiacos in our first CL match of the season.

Everybody dance now!

Wish we can have all our players fully fit for this match. We need to get an early goal to help us settle down and then go for another goal or two to kill the game off. Let's hope we will put up a good performance and get a convincing win to start the CL with a win this season.

1-1 at half time. Parrott scored for us - short through ball by Richards and then Parrott slipped it under the keeper. Later on Eyoma badly under-hit a back-pass and they equalised
