Kieran Trippier

Eugh, not a chance I could find them. I think a lot might be the wrong amount, more like a few.

@milo From what I recall they were around the situation of players happiness in the club and how the turmoil of changing stadiums and players on short contracts had affected the club. I think it was Poch himself who said something about that in spite of all the various issues the players had after last summer's transfer window shut (Toby and Eriksen contracts, no-one coming new coming in and a few not leaving) they all decided do be professional and get on with it.

I remember that from the previous season, not the one that has just gone.

Wish him well, and having read his latest comments https://www.skysports.com/share/11800805

He can go double fudge himself with his sly dig at the club and his noncey indirect at Poch.
I’m sure he feels hard done by but that is poor from him. It’ll come back to bite him in the arse, I’m sure.
But is that a literal quote and not taken out of context in any way?

Because it hardly sounds like the sort of thing you expect to hear from Tripps.

How would we feel if Lo Celso or Ndombele said they’d taken a step down?

It’s 6/5 and pick em who the bigger club is, but he was asked a question to which he only had one reasonable option.

Full interview here... sounds rather less like a dig when it’s not just one excerpt used as click bait by $ky $ports...

...he never feared moving abroad might harm his international career.

"I'm working with one of the best coaches in the world," he said. "And Atletico is one of the biggest teams in Europe. I'm not taking a step down, I'm taking a step up."

He was dropped in May before the Nations League finals after a poor season for Tottenham that was all the more surprising given his superb showing at last year's World Cup.

"Injuries played a big part but I've got no excuses for last season," Trippier said. "I just struggled for fitness and sometimes I was a bit selfish in that even when I was injured I played when I should have taken a step back to get fit.

"But you learn from your mistakes and I'm feeling fresh now for the new season."

He says his relationship with Mauricio Pochettino remains strong. "I have a lot to be grateful to him for," Trippier said.

"At the end we had a great talk about coming here. He spoke very highly of Cholo, of Spain and living here in Madrid. He wished me nothing but the best. We left on very positive terms."

Funny thing, Trippier.

I think he was heavily over criticised last season, made a scape goat to be honest. While he wasnt terrible (as advertised) he wasnt great.

I think, honestly, we havent missed him, which probably says a lot.

And I think, good luck to him. Madrid are a top club, and I applaud any English player going abroad, and it seems he is doing well.

No bitterness from me at all.

More like ambivalence, really. No harm no foul kind of stuff.
