I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

Long may it continue. Hopefully he can maintain it over a season and stay injury free.

I suspect that he will see a little less game time when everyone is fit and bedded in. That could be our best chance of getting a full season out of him though which would be a real boon.

I see Lamela is rocking the @scaramanga look this summer. Niiice shoes.

He's had a hand in four if our seven goals this season

Genuinely think he’s the most underrated player outside of, although sometimes even in, Spurs circles.

It annoys me a great deal that he’s still labelled a flop by many.

As far as I’m concerned he has a knack for the brilliantly absurd and spectacular on his day skills wise.

The last six years he’s been our dependable right wing General who we can throw on in the big games to give us a bastard enforcer and that master of the dark arts we always craved. No more nice Spurs with him on the pitch.

It would have been good for him to manage to have got a run of games early on, when the team was still forming, and maybe his ceiling would have been higher and there would be less doubters.

Sadly, he’s been so stop/start for years his ceiling has been set lower and he’s lacked a little consistency as a result.its made him a 7/10 rather than a 9/10 or higher.

He won't be rated until he plays a full season, he's had a decent start to this one, seems to be linking well with Son and Eriksen. But that will be all useless if he gets injured again and is in and out side.

He's got work rate, bit of nasty and he has an interesting way of going past players (I think of it as ghosting), doesn't quite dribble, half shields, half runs by, fun to watch.

A fit season, double digits in goals and assists would be on, people would remember he was a player ..

Agreed it’s a shame he got if to the start he had with AVBs team before having the misfortune of having his Premier League imitation handled by Tim Sherwood.

I don’t imagine it helped his confidence back then having sold Bale are squad was very average and below the level we were aspiring to get to. I think it’s incredibly lucky we still managed a top 6 finish.

Yep, "dependable" is definitely the best adjective to describe Lamela's last six years...?!

Hahahaha. Yeah perhaps with the sub clause ‘on the weeks of the season he’s available for’
