Victor Wanyama

Even with his dodgy knees, a move to Belgium seems a little odd. Then again, Club Brugge are regulars in the CL so, compared to say some clubs in Ligue 1 (which might also seem a natural move for him - defensive, slow), they might be able to afford him more easily

Good guy, but he wouldnt play much at Spurs so better than him rotting in the stands and us having another Janssen/GKN situation on our hands (i.e. someone we cant shift)

Also think its worth noting, Janssen, GKN, Wanyama off the books this summer is actually a rather big deal.

And Llorente imo.
If Eriksen does go we may be close to a 0 net spend and not a huge impact to the wage bill.

Vorm as well if you are counting releases. And Onomah if you count players we need to find space for (CCV as well? Only a loan but I dont expect him back...)

I think we have done an excellent job of losing a lot of the deadweight around the squad that was effectively blocking us from bringing players in.

It bodes well for future windows and gives us a chance to promote youth.

The one I will always wonder about is Toby. Had he left when expected, would we have gone for De Ligt? Ah well...agreed that we have overall done a decent job of finding homes for the driftwood...

Thats a brilliant return all things considered

Agreed. Indeed, the Eriksen issue aside, I think this has been a brilliant transfer window. Feels like the first time in ages we’ve got rid of so much deadwood - Vorm, CCV, Trippier, Wanyama, Nkoudou, Onomah, Janssen, Llorente. And brought in three top prospects.

If only Eriksen wasn’t being such a little bitch.

Absolutely.

I think this window has been brilliant, to be honest.

We have genuinely cleared the decks, brought in young exciting players, allowed room for academy talent to frown - and made space for the Dybala type moves down the line.

Last season the bloated squad was as great an issue as anything, not being able to get people because of the like of Janssen etc.

Now things look decidedly different, IMO.
