Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

If we are talking about the same thing, which we may not be, as I'm a bottle of red deep. Then it started much further back than a couple of hundred years ago....
Well, I'm a bottle.5 of white deep. I'm referring to the industrial revolution. We started burning then and we haven't stopped. This era was the beginning of globalization and now we are seeing the end of the experiment. I don't think it has worked.

Boris Johnson said the UK would not "become hostile to immigration".

So we'll probably have similar levels of immigration, but with more immigrants from outside Europe coming to the UK. However, we will lose unencumbered freedom to travel, work, and be looked after by the state all accross Europe?

We'll have to pay a lot more for customs to check the 40 million people who visit from the EU, or will less people come over with more restrictions in place? Stopping FoM is a key part of Brexit, but is it a genuine step forward?

Will all the ex-pats in Spain have to come back to the UK?

When America broadcast radio over Cuba, encouraging Cubans to defect to the US, Fidel Castro opened up the jails and sent all their hardened criminals accross the 50 miles of sea to Key West. Will Spain do the same to us? Or will we get rid of the Albanian gangs?

73 days until we supposedly find out.

I was thinking more of the 1mil or so UK pensioners that live in Spain ;)

Other than what? Which race are we positively discriminating at the moment?

Black people, brown people, yellow people etc.

Ask a British Indian about bringing a family member to the UK. Or what it's like marrying someone from Egypt or Taiwan.

We discriminate against people like that, but let any white person from Estonia or Portugal, with no personal connections, walk in

Like he said. We have an open immigration policy to anyone European, but discriminate against everyone else.

We even discriminate against Australians (which is perfectly acceptable because they're all racists).

What about a black person from Portugal?

Oh that's right. They can walk in as well.

Using colour as a total red Herring.

We discriminate based on geopolitical economic agreements. All we are now doing is changing those agreements to favour/discriminate differently.

To try and play a moral colour card is laughable (as is your derivative definition of Caucasian as white)

But 99% of Europeans are white. It's just a technical way of managing the system without being explicitly racist.

The point is in future we can make case-by-case judgements, treating everyone in the world the same, based on more human-centric criteria

Portugese or Estonian is not a race, it is a nationality. Plenty of Portuguese people are black of Brazilian or African origin.

The great irony is that opinion polls shows that those who don't like immigrants, prefer white ones. The immigrants Brits tend not to like are the ones say wearing a hijab who don't speak English that the NHS has to provide interpretors for. In short those who tend to be brought over by family members, which is what you think we should prioritise? Over European immigrants who tend to be well educated, speak English and often go home once they've picked fruit or finished the building job?

The irony is brexit is set to deliver the opposite of what opinion polls tell us Brits want. It is quite funny really.
