Paulo Dybala

I dont believe that if it wasnt for image rights this deal would have happened.

Think there is more to it, either dybala or juve getting cold feet.

Just hope madrid dont get desperate and come in for eriksen and as long as they dont then I want levy working overtime getting eriksen to sign a new deal.

Imo its very much needed now after this dybala deal fell through.

Indeed we may just have to reject all offers for him now and let him go for free next summer if it comes to that.

Keeping him now makes the difference imo to a title challenge or just another top 4.

Keep him now, take the hit if required and replace him next summer.

If someone offers £30 million plus, he’s gone.

Even if he stays I think we're short of challenging for the title. Not that I expected that mind you - I think we should be relatively solidly top 4 this year, but a decent distance from Man C (15-20 points).

With Ndombele replacing Dembele and Lo Celso more than likely a replacement for Eriksen where do you get your two or three extra bodies from?

I will however concede that the picture looks less gloomy if we do not sell Erikssen this summer

Well Eriksen hasn't been sold and we've been without Dembele forever. From the team that played a substantial part of last season we've added.

So no Dybala and if we lose Eriksen post UK window it will throw a bit of shade on it.

Our attacking options would be:

Kane
Son
Moura
Lo Celso
Alli
Lamela

You can loosely add:

Parrott and maybe Sessegnon

On paper and purely from an attacking point of view it would be hard to argue that the above is any better than last year.

There's talk of Lo Celso being a deeper player than Eriksen but he appears to have an eye for goal (14 from 39 in La Liga and Europa League last year). Will take time to settle. Some say Eriksen had a poor season (not me) but if Lo Celso matched it I presume that would be good for season 1 in the Prem.

The big hope/difference this year is the freshness of Kane, Son and Alli and the addition of Ndombele who could easily bring the best out of those in front of him with quick transitions.

This deal reminds me of the Moutinho deal all over again. Hoping for last hour things to change. When they Had WEEKS to sort it out before hand and didnt. Its why I try to emotionally detach during the transfer window now. Its normally always a massive let down.

The question is were we ever in for him? I guess only the club really knows.

I just don't trust anything Journo's print, one makes something up and the others jump on it putting their own spin on it for days/weeks. Interest in Sessengon, Ndombele and Lo Celso rumbled on all for months and it looks likely these are going to be are targeted signings this window.

They were working on it for 3 weeks, but in these kind of negotiations it's always going to go down to the wire, if the parties cannot come to a quick agreement.

The official reason (at least the one I have seen) was that Juve pulled the plug. I get the impression that we were taking a chance at the last minute because any earlier and we risked being outbid or the player considering going elsewhere. What I am having problems working out is why Juve cancelled it.

From all the updates that went out over yesterday and today, it sounded like everything had been settled with the club and player. Now Juve must've known that Lukaku was going to Inter before today, so either their second choice hasn't panned out or someone like PSG has come in and offered more than us at the death. It'll be interesting to see what happens to him in the next couple of weeks.
