Japhet Tanganga

I remember thinking that Alton Thelwell and Anthony Gardner would form an impenetrable trio of glistening black muscle with Ledley.

Speaking of whom, Ledley comes across like such a shy simpleton in the online vidz. Such a strange choice for ambassador, from that point of view.

I.e. usually a company will pick someone well known, with the gift of the gab, happy to shake hands and jump into any social gathering and be a bit Trump.

Ledley is more like the shy guy in the corner thinking "how long do I have to stay here, can I leave already or would that be rude?"

As for Japhet Tanganga, I feel like his name is an anagram or a good rhyme for something, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Flaccid Bandana?

He was very good in Homicide: Life on the Street (the best crime drama set in Baltimore, bar none - there, I've said it!)

He's young, but he certainly has done his chances a world of good.

However, Caulker and CCV have left me very dubious when it comes to seeing us bring through an academy CB.

If Foyth is to be used as right back then it will mean that Pochettino will plan to give game time to Tanganga. So we’ll find out soon enough what he can do in Premier League.

Both had most of the tools; just the turning circle of oil tankers.

He is 20 now, so it wouldn't come as a shock if he has a similarly path as Foyth has so far - regularly training with the first team and a bit of game time here and there to see what he's all about.

No it doesn't. Behave yourself Guepo

We would have Vertonghen, Alderweireld abs Sanchez as our three primary centre backs playing in either a 2, or a 3, central man defence. With Dier as considered next in line. Then Tanganga. I think Dier has work to do still following a poor last season. Davies could be an option but if Rose is leaving then Davies is needed as left back. So Tanganga wouldn’t be first team but could see him getting appearances if Foyth is used as right back. Tanganga would replace Foyth as an option for centre back.

Jimmy McNulty says “Ban???”

LOL.

I also prefer Revolver to Sgt Pepper.

Don't get me wrong; I thoroughly admire "The Wire" (I've read both the David Simon books on which Homicide and The Wire were based - both a bit dull, actually) but I prefer the characters, the camerawork and the "scratching" (fast-cut repeats of the same key moment) in Homicide but it's a close-run thing.

10 minutes in the box with Frank Pembleton and you'd agree with me.
