A Levy Deadline Day 'Special' Signing

It would have to be somebody that a club didn't want or needed to get off the books to ensure they don't fall foul of FPP. The problem with our transfer window closing weeks earlier than the rest of Europe makes this much less likely now though I think.

I would be looking at clubs who may have overspent on transfer fees and/or wages therefore or players who have fallen out with their clubs.

Malcolm from Barcelona maybe?

I think we have our targets clear in our heads, the Toby situation is resolved as of today so thats one less issue. I don't see us with our financial backing now having to settle and look for players that are out of favour or clubs players that are within the FFP trap.

I can see Dybala being the dead line day deal
Agreed price to pay at the end of the season and £30m now
Like the deal they had with AC Milan and then Chelsea for Higuain

Why is he out of reach?

1) Transfer fee and wages more than we're comfortable with...particularly if he's only someone who's name has emerged later (we obviously dont know one way or the other)
2) PSG might be selling Neymar and need a big money signing in the same position to replace him
3) Other big clubs needing players in those positions....Bayern need replacements for Robben/Robery/James, Man U (perhaps), Barca (if they dont get Neymar), PSG (if Barca do get Neymar!)

...just feels like there is likely to be someone who blows us out of the water. Think he's a top player, so would be great to get him...but it feels low probability

His scoring record isn’t top player level, as in its less than 1 in 2 so is decent but not WC
And his international records makes Peter crouch look like pele

Barca don’t want Neymar
Bayern IMO can’t spend £80m and have other priorities
We can afford the wages and the fee. People really need to look at our finances better
Agree PSG could be a curve ball but their a mess of a club with no strategy
