Exactly this. If it happened in the other box, I’d have been furious if we didn’t get a pen.

It was stupid from Sissoko to put himself in that position. Looked like he was telling someone to mark in behind. I’m sure Toby and Jan had that under control. Sissoko was naive and stupid and Mane exploited it.

What a fudging start. 30 bloody seconds. Such a kick in the stomach for us.

It was a terrible decision from the ref, and having given that, how does he not give the clearer use of arm/hand by TAA? He also failed to book Matip for taking Kane out and Robertson for elbowing Trippier in the face. Further, he made no attempt to stop Liverpool slowing the game way down whenever possible..

Good post but what success? We haven't won a thing!

We have built the club on a commercial basis but on the pitch, poch has been working with scraps.

On the pitch success is measured by trophies and we have a big fat 0

Not sure how old you are mate, but I remember Terry Neil. Trust me. We are currently successful and heading for some very good silver-plated times.

How was Sissoko's handball silly. Mane shot at him from point blank range while he was pointing to Trippier who to mark. It we just unlucky.
I think it was quick thinking by Mane, he saw Sissoko had his arm up pointing, in the box, Mane flicked it up at Sissoko (it wasn't going to a Liverpoo player I could see) and screamed for the pen imo.

He definitely did, in my opinion. If this sort of rule and action is allowed to take root it will change the essence of the game. People will seek to gain advantage not by attempting to break a defense, but to exploit a stupid rule.

It was silly because he had his arm outstretched in the box. He's a midfielder and not a defender and defenders will often fold their arms behind their backs while jockeying in the box.

He was pointing to Trippier to cover for him. If anything his arm was coming down from that gesture. The ball hit his ribs and armpit anyway. Never a pen.

I agree. But how often do defenders point in the box? Seldom. The keep their arms out of the line of fire. It was naive of Sissoko, quick thinking by Mane and a brick decision by the ref that didn’t even seem to go to VAR. And as we saw after that, Pool put 8 men behind the ball.

Speaking of supporters of other clubs being cnuts, I’ve just received a ton of garbage from a Cheat$ki mate on a WhatsApp group. A lad who was super quiet to the Gooners on the chat after their game. And to be honest it’s made me steaming mad. I get the banter and all that, and I know it’s my personality, but it’s classless (I know, he supports Cheat$i). I did the mature thing and left the WhatsApp group.

Yeah, similar for me. All the ManU and Everton fans are in mourning with me whilst the Goons still embarrassed about Wednesday but one Chav I know giving it large

I reminded him that Hazard only signed for Chavski because they fluked the CL in 2012 and Eden’s now had enough of carrying the team so he is buggering off to Madrid to win the CL... I haven’t heard a peep from that taco since.

Still gutted about last night but I look at all the British clubs who have reached a Champions League final in its post '92 format (not the old European Cup) and they have all lost at least one final. So it's a tall ask to win it at the first time of asking especially when we have had had a relatively poor season by our standards. I believe we will be back. If we can do it once we will do it again.

There is a core of a very good side that we need to add some defensive solidity to. Liverpool did well this season because they were almost impossible to beat. We need defensive reinforcements in midfield, Centre back and RB. Plus let's hope we can convince Eriksen to sign that contract.

Fingers crossed we don’t have to wait as long as the Goons for a 2nd bite of the cherry!

Looking back, I see that Leeds were the sole English club to lose in their first appearance at a European Cup final but hopefully the fact that Chelsea also lost their debut in the only other all-English final (before going on to win it 4 years later) is a good omen for us...

ManU: 1968 won, 1999 won, 2008 won, 2009 lost, 2011 lost
Leeds: 1975 lost
Liverpool: 1977 won, 78 won, 81 won, 84 won, 05 won, 07 lost, 18 lost, 19 won
Forest: 1979 won, 1980 won
Villa: 1982 won
ARSEnal: 2006 lost
Chavski: 2008 lost, 2012 won
Spurs: 2019 lost

Makes you think UEFA told him to make as easy for Pool as possible eh

I see that utter total sack of a so called human brick clam George Galloway is at it again.

“Tottenham have condemned comments from former MP George Galloway, accusing him of "blatant antisemitism" over a tweet sent in the aftermath of the Champions League final.

The club reacted to a post from Galloway which congratulated Liverpool on their win but also expressed relief that there were "no Israel flags on the cup".

The tweet from Galloway said: "Congratulations to the great people of Liverpool to the memory of the socialist miner BillShankley to the fallen 96 to those who fought for justice for them and to the Liverpool dockers. No Israel flags on the Cup!"

Tottenham gave the following statement to Sky Sports News on Sunday: "It's astounding in this day and age to read such blatant antisemitism published on a social platform by someone who is still afforded air time on a radio station on which he has previously broken broadcast impartiality rules."

@thfcsteff - it wasn’t an elbow on Trippier, it looked it in real time but when they showed it back he barely touched him, basically Robertsons hand literally brushed his face, purely accidental and Trippier went down. It was a soft one and embarrassing from Trippier.
