i know I am being very negative here but I just feel so deflated by tonight. It probably would have been better had we lost to Barcelona/Real Madrid etc as at least I wouldn’t have been surrounded by opposition supporters making loads of noise in my face.

I love our club. I would die for our club to be successful. Tonight is hard to take as it felt as if we were on the verge of something very special and tonight is just that bump back to Earth. We played ok. But the final was a poor match and we seem just as far away from winning anything significant as we have been for many years. We’re not moving forwards, we are still failing to win trophies.

I will continue to support us but I wonder if this is our lot. We are doomed never to win another trophy but instead go shoot ourselves in the foot when it comes down to it.

Worry not. This is a bad loss and we didn’t give the best account of ourselves. Read the Jon Crace article in the Guardian which talks about the pain of being a Spurs fan. We’ve come so close so many times. European Cup semi in 62 (and the league), our early Super Glory years in the early 80s and 87. But we are back from the wilderness of the 90s and have a platform to build further. I think we have to keep Poch and trust that he can build a PochSpurs 2.0. He got us this far on academy graduates and cheap-ish signings. He can take us further.

Tonight was crushing, I’m going to be angry for some time, why does everything have to end up so brick.

It does feel like everyone gets a turn but us. Every fudging time we look like doing something, it goes wrong.

But...15 years ago, we hadn’t finished top 6 for 16 years or so. We became top 6 regulars. Then we became top 4 regulars. Levy has built a training ground and stadium that puts every other club to shame. We’ve had missteps along the way but we’ve constantly and consistently stepped up levels over the last 15 years. This is another step on the journey. We’re going to compete at the top table.

Maybe not with all these players. Maybe not even with this manager (although I really hope so). But with Levy at the helm, our day will come. Keep the faith.

Better we’re in the mix play the final than safely watching some other side!

We lost to a side that has only lost once all season. Is that right? We had chances, we didn’t manage to take them. Poch needs a clear plan for how we take the next step.

You’ll be fine in a few weeks. Like gamblers it’s the losing that ultimately makes you more hungry.

That’s the spirit, mate. And given the year you’ve had, many on here should take inspiration from your positive perspective.

I'm super depressed too, even more so because it was the dippers we lost to. Almost on the verge of crying. But if you think about it, getting to the final is quite doable again. So I'm confident we'll be there again soon. It's just that the wait to get there will be unbearable.

I don’t get why anyone would be angry with us tonight?
We played better than Liverpool (they weren’t good so granted the benchmark is low), we didn’t disgrace ourselves.
We should have done better of course - maybe that’s where the anger is coming from?

I feel far too deflated and gutted to have an emotion as strong as anger - and I don’t think it would be justified anyway.

Plus I’ve had at least 3 pool fans tell me we played well/I should be proud of my team/we’ve had a CL campaign to be proud of. All of which I find very disconcerting and I really hate people being nice to me when I’m feeling down.

You’re a cnut. Better?

No apology needed.
Oddly, I don't feel very upset. I'm still overjoyed that we were playing in the final of the Champions League.

If I come across fans of rival clubs who laugh at me for this result, I shall just thank them for providing evidence of their limited thinking in mocking a team that got to the final of possibly the biggest team sporting competition in the world.
