How many matches do you watch, when has Kane ever came back and put in a good performance and not just done his best Llorente impersonation for the first two or three games.

It wasn’t rocket science to predict he would perform like that, if Llorente started he would have been slated for his lack of movement and how it effected the rest of the team.

Think u missed my point. Lots of people saying it after the game. Kudos if they said it before!

I think that it is a little tough to call out Poch in our second half performances in the CL this season. He's got it mostly right.

Is it a twistafon in here tonight? I’m not calling Poch out. I’m saying it might have been a good gamble. Not one I’d expect us to take though.

Tottenham are my club. My one and only club. I don’t need the trophy to love my club. It would have been lovely, but it’s been an incredible journey and one that lives with me forever. Whether we get over the line and win some of these trophies I’ll never know but it won’t ever stop me from coming back for more

So much love for this club, the players and Poch. Deserve the trophy but one day one day

It was amazing that we got to the final. Beat City over 2 legs. 3 down against Ajax. Drawing away at Barca. Our run ran out tonight. We played ok. But not well enough. I don't think we quite deserved the win, would have been awesome to get it though, and we were close-ish. No pen, Son, Alli, Eriksen take one of those chances....

I think we have to step back. Look at how we become more clinical unfront and how we improve the team. Agre with @milo a new RB is essential. Followed by a CM and a forward. Maybe a CM is more important than we think. Winks is the only passing midfielder we have and he's injured a lot. Think a real presence in the middle who can pass and dribble might give us more of a spine. Then around that a better RB and another (maybe older) forward would help us. Someone who is over 25 and can bring more cool in attack.

I think that it is telling that the spending clubs have prioritised FB recently. If we go back a couple of seasons, we had the best two in the league but that is now longer the case. If you want to overload the opposition in the final third, you need great attacking fullbacks. Unfortunately, everyone knows that now and they cost a fortune.

Poor decision imho, one of many. Kane should have had a foul in the build up to it, VVD repeatedly went over the top and barged Kane and git away with it all night.
He continued to warn them for time wasting after 5 mins and did nothing about it.

I think it’s a shame we never loaned out KWP for the season.

I think he has the potential to be very good, but we won’t know with the way he’s been used by us.

I’m going to say something controversial, I would cash in on Son, his value would be at his absolute peak right now, I don’t think he will improve and for me he is too inconsistent, he has 4-5 games of absolute brilliance followed by 10 games of smack bang average, bar the obvious in RB and CM, Son is the one player imo we can improve on and that type of player can take us up another level, I see it as similar to when Liverpool sold Coutinho except it would be our choice.

I’m going to pretend tonight didn’t happen as it was a brick fest. We were brick. Ref was brick. We will never win another trophy so no point. But proud of the team for getting us here just shame they then played as well as Watford did against City in the FA Cup

The time wasting bugged the fcuk out of me. They regularly took 25 seconds plus on throw ins/corners/goal kicks. And not one warning. And while it’s not an excuse, the ref was a cnut.

Of topic slightly

We took an absolute age to take throw ins, we slowed down our own play.

I fudging love this club and all these players. It was an incredible run and feels like the start of a next chapter.

Hopefully Levy backs Poch, we move a few out and get some new blood in, and then we use this as a springboard to move forward. If we need any inspiration, look at the team we played tonight. There's no reason we can't push on from this.

COYS
DL has to back Poch next season or we can say goodbye to ever winning anything! IMO.

To slate Harry Kane or the decision to play him is wrong imho. He is our best player and the one most likely to make things happen. The major problem was he was well shackled by VVD and the players around him were poor. Disappointed Lamela didn't come on. Guess Sissoko's injury put paid to that.

I think we need to move beyond thinking Harry is our best player and has a guaranteed starting place. Like everyone else he needs to earn his place game to game. If he’s out for a while then he comes off the bench and proves he should start.

Lots of people saying Kane shouldn’t have started. The old crystal ball must have a fair few sets of finger prints on it!

There were a lot on here saying he shouldn’t start before the team was announced.

The only good outcome from this for me is how easy it is to clear out people from social media that I don't want anything to do with.

I didn’t say there was equivalence.
I didn’t say I agreed with the law.
But it was a penalty, ludicrous
or not.

Exactly the imbeciles who make the laws of football have decided this is a handball, anyone with a brain who understands the game knows it should not be and I would say the same thing if it was our pen be it tonight or any other game.

Indeed controversial, as I don't think you can put a price on everything else son brings. He seems like a genuinely loyal and hard working guy, and even when he doesn't have his best game hes still running from the minute the whistle goes. If we were to cash in on him, it would probably have to be nearly £175 million for me to truly be ok with it.
Though It's hard to put a price on loyalty.

But it’s not.

How far from his pec to his arm? 4 inches?

If the ball his hits another part of the body and ricochets onto the arm it’s never given as a pen.

Check out the non-decision on Alexander-Arnold on the quarters. Not given.

It’s simply not a penalty. And a wrong penalty given in the first minute has a profound effect on the outcome.

Current UEFA laws

Roberto Rosetti, the head of Uefa referees, said earlier this year that officials in the Champions League would enforce stricter decisions on handball and that an “unnatural” position of the arm could lead to a free-kick or penalty, meaning the handball does not necessarily have to be “deliberate”, despite what the laws say.

It’s a pen.
