Getting really nervous about the Final.

This may well be our once-in-a-lifetime chance to win the CL. Big teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and PSG are sure to spend madly to try to win the CL in the coming years. Unless we spend big, it will be even tough to be in the CL semi final next time. Just can't see us getting the kind of luck we had against Emirates Marketing Project and Ajax again next time. So we have to make the most of our chance in the CL final.

I think attack will make the difference in this match, rather than defence. Both have similiar attack but Liverpool's attack have been more consistent than us this season, scoring more than 20 goals than us in the league. I think their key player will be Sadio Mane who have been in great goal scoring form lately, finishing as the joint top scorer in the league. Apparently we were very close to signing Mane in 2017 to replace Son but he chose Liverpool because they were willing to pay him higher salary. Not sure how different we would be now if we had signed Mane and sold Son that season.

Noticed that we have been practising freekicks. Hope we have practised penalties as well. We do have a poor record in penalties, so do need to practice more of the penalties.

Could well be.

Overall, I think the fullback match-ups with wide attacking players will be key. Mane versus Trippier is certainly a concern. But perhaps Son and Moura running in behind their fullbacks can be something to get us goals or change how they play. Their fullbacks are extremely important to how they play (ridiculous assist+goal numbers) so this is where we have to limit damage.

I agree. I am pretty sure Poch will decide otherwise, but would it not be worth a thought to play Sissoko as RB against Robertson (and Dier in midfield alongside Winks, so that he can drop back in a three against Salah-Mane-Firmino)? Or would that be too defensive? It might work if we play Moura and Son upfront. In that case soaking up pressure would be part of the plan.

I still can't believe that I'm gonna watch the Champions League final, as I always do, except that we are playing in it!

I'm gonna be a phucking mess tomorrow.

Always the biggest game of the season for me.

I’ve been bullish on our “inevitable” involvement for years, but this is real, we are at the last step.

I think the starting XI will be this, but formation might be 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-1-3-2 or 4-1-4-1. We don't really play one static formation anyway. We change and adapt as the game progress, and whether we attack or defend.

Lloris
Aurier-Toby-Verts-Rose
Sissoko-Winks
Dele-Eriksen-Son
Kane

Bit risky to start three players who’ve barely played in two months?

Have Sissoko at right centre mid in the 2 of the 4-2-3-1 then he can cover there as well and also give them something to think about if we can get the ball to him with their FB pushed up, Sissoko has the pace and energy to get up the pitch.

I think it will be Tripper with Sissoko on the right of midfield to help out. I think we could see a three in CM or a diamond with Eriksen at the top. Son and one other up front. Just don't go three at the back.

23 hours. Nerves kicking in.

Holy brick, 23 combined assists in the PL this season!

It’s a really tricky one - do we set up to try and defend against their FBs, or to take advantage of the space they leave behind? Knowing Poch, can see him going for the latter (as you allude to). It worries me, but fudge it - audere est facere!

Can't wait to get this brick outta the way so we can get on to the real entertainment this summer; poring over reams of speculative predictable banal transfer rumours from reputable media sources worldwide..... "Massive bid placed for X player" (3 days pass) "As it turns out, massive bid has not been placed for X player". The actual game of football just ruins the sheer unadulterated joy this type of cutting edge reporting brings, should be balls deep in to it by now but here we are in anticipation of some actual game of football we're involved in....fudging Moura..

I want the game moved a week so that we can read more posts about what team Poch should pick and what formation it should be and what tactics we should use. And if there is any team news yet.

Evening all. Emirates Marketing Project fan here. In peace, people. In peace…

I have read that our solar system is on the outer rim of a galaxy known among earthlings as the Milky Way. You will be toasted forever and a day by little green men on the far rim of the galaxy, drinking whatever it is they drink over there, if you do the business tomorrow. For the wellbeing of the whole galaxy, and whatever inhabits it: Just Do It.
Thanks. The "Anyone but Victimpool" feeling's mutual - your lot had a lot of fans around here last game of the season.

Carragher moaning that it's not fair to have a 3 week break and helps Spurs, conveniently forgets it's a European tournament and some leagues only finished last weekend.

fudge me I'm getting nervous now! Thankfully Poch is looking fully focused, but calm as always.
I don't know what the feck I'm gonna do tomorrow to get the hours passing. I'm a wreck already!

Clearly wanted his beloved Liverpool to play us whilst we still had several key players out injured. Kind of what you'd expect from a pundit who gobs at a 14yo girl.
