End of league season player reviews.

Time as the league season is over to review the players on how they have performed this league season.

Lloris 6. He has produced some good performances but is increasingly looking shaky and error prone.

Vorm 5. Not a good enough back up and it is right that he leaves this summer.

Tripper 4. Absolutely awful season, I think he has been our worse player, a liability and someone opposition teams seem to target. He has admitted he has let it slip, which for me is even worse, showing such a lack of professionalism. Can not wait to see the back of the chav.

Aurier 6. Far improved from last season when he was clearly our worse player(something about the right back position) still not good enough for us and poor positioning and defensive laps. Needs to leave in the summer as well.

Walker-Peters 6. An awful mistake against Barcelona but showed character to play well in the rest of the game. I would have liked to see him get more chances, he has something about him but against better teams he makes big mistakes. Needs a loan or more game time to improve.

Alderwield 8. Been back to his brilliant best, reading of the game and leadership have been excellent. One cautionary note is that he seems to get beaten for pace more and more.

Verts 9. Absolutely brilliant as well, love him. The is nothing this guy cant do.

Rose 7. Shown signs of getting back to his best, some awful defending at times like the mistake against Southampton just a few weeks ago. If he gets his head right he could be important for us.

Davies 5. Very very poor season.

Dier 6. Tough season with all the injuries and never really got going. Cant make my mind up on him.

Sissoko 9. Player of the season, amazed at the turn around. Love his character.

Wanamya 5. Tough with the injuries again but I cant help but think his career with us is finished, sad because he was one hell of a player.

Eriksen 8. At times great, went missing for the last 3 months, I can accept that had something to do with tiredness.

Lamela 6. Started the season so well, sadly the lad is made of glass and is also painfully one footed. Has a brain fart in him most matches but shows great fight.

Winks 7. Looked to be getting back to his best, but again another with injuries. If he can stay injury free and add more goals to his game I think he could be very important to us in the future.

Sparks 6. Looks a tidy player, could do with a loan to get up to speed with mens football.

Lucas 7.5 Started the season well, got lovely feet and that hatrick will leave in the memory for a long time. I expect him to come on and improve season by season. Technique is there to become a big player for us.

Dele 8. Another player whose season has been effected by injuries, kid has all the skill in the world. Would like to see him play further forward as his goal return is getting worse.

Son 8. A streaky player but one that if he did not have to play so much international football would be doing even better for us in the goals scored column.

Kane 8. Yet another one whose season has been hampered by injuries. Brilliant player, need to keep him feet.

Llorente 5. Done some good things in champs league games and offers a physical presence but another is not good enough for us anymore.

Janssen 5. Seems unfair to judge him seeing how little game time he got. But he is just not good enough.

Poch 9. He has managed to get so much out of a injured squad and how he has kept us in the top 4 I do not know, let alone getting us to a champs league final. The guy is reaching another level, I used to criticise him in the past for not being able to change things in matches. But several times this season he has seen things in matches and switched things around to change a losing position to a winning one.

Good marks, very close to my own thoughts. I think a 5 for Davies and a 7 for Winksy is a little too low. Otherwise agree. The team as a whole, including everyone, deserves at least a 9, just like Poch.

No, not over the entire season. He was a revelation in the semis, of course, and has put in quite the amount of work when called upon. But the way I see it, he has been on level with Lamela and Alli, which is just below "good". I could also have put Eriksen there to be fair.

Edit: got to add that below good doesn't mean being poor, but not as someone I'd emphasize looking back on the season.

Lloris - 7.5. He's been error prone, he's let us down at times. But he's our captain, our masthead - he is as responsible for dragging us over the line as he is for us struggling. And his saves, including against Arse in the last minute and Ajax in the 93rd minute, were crucial in allowing us a sunny, happy end to the season. There's an argument for maybe thinking about making an outfield player the captain next year, but he is our Hugo.

Trippier - 4. Honestly, a deeply unsatisfactory season. Everyone knows what all the reasons are, but I think it's best if he moves on this summer. We can't rely on him going forward, given his fragilities - and he could really shine at somewhere like Napoli, where they would be less exposed.

Aurier - 5. It feels like he's barely been around. No idea if he stays or goes, but it hasn't been a great second year from him.

Walker-Peters - 6.5. Did his job reasonably well when called upon, but was rarely used by Poch, for whatever reason. He might end up moving on too.

Toby - 7.5. Magisterial toward the end of the season, but shaky in parts. Hope he stays - he is the building block upon which our style of play has been built this season - him and Jan.

Sanchez - 6.5. Weird season for him. I expected him to kick on from an impressive first season, but he's struggled to recreate his form. However, he had no protection in front of him, and had to adapt to extraordinary circumstances at times (Rose in front of him in defensive midfield), so that's okay.

Jan - 9. Absolutely imperial. I've questioned his leadership at times, but this season is when he absolutely stepped up when he was needed. A leader, a talisman, our best center-back, probably the second-best in the league overall - our Super Jan. New contract critical. Also, overjoyed to see his SuperJan celebration back after, what, six years? :)

Foyth - 6.5. Weird season for the kid. Got his chance in central defense, looked a little shaky, got his chance at RB, looked a little shaky, got sent off. But it's all part and parcel of growing into his role - and he's a kid, so he'll get better for sure.

Rose - 7. Shaky start to the season, but grew into a dominating presence towards the end of it. Still can't cross to save his life, and has lost a yard of pace, but he's fiery, he's fast (enough), and he's good with Google - he's our Danny. :p

Davies - 6.5. Dependable. Solid. Uninspiring. Really nothing more to say - you put Ben Davies in, you'll get a 6.5 in every game, and will never have to worry. For more, though, we might need someone else.

Dier - 5. Shaky season from him, and he's looked pretty awful since his return from his illness woes. Has been utterly outshone by his replacement...

Sissoko - 9.5. Player of the Season, without a fudging doubt. The turnaround in his fortunes has been utterly immense - I've defended him for a couple of years, as I felt he was getting a lot of stick he didn't deserve. This season, he made sure I didn't need to - he's been monstrous. A midfield destroyer, an elegant dribbler, a tireless worker and a beating heart of energy and passion - after all, who needs Bale, when you've got Sissoko?

Wanyama - 4.5. Not much to say. Was injured for a lot of the season, and looked (looks) very rusty when played. However, his utterly heroic efforts to get us over the line against City will never be forgotten.

Skipp - 7.5. For a raw kid, being thrown into the situation he was thrown into around Christmas/New Year, he was amazing. Bright start to his Spurs career, and to experience a CL final when you're just 18 must be something special for him to savor. :)

Winks - 7. Elegant on the ball, assured in possession, but injured too often. We need him, but we need someone else in midfield when he isn't around.

Dembele - 6. Was struggling before he left, but...Moose. Why'd you go? :(

Lucas - 8.5. Would have been a 6.5, but he scored two hat-tricks in three weeks. The second being one of the greatest (if not the greatest) in the club's history. He's our tireless little roadrunner, our man for the big occasion - our Lucas.

Lamela - 6. Frustrating season for him - promising start, followed by his usual struggles with injury. It might be the end of our journey with Erik this summer - if so, farewell, you crazy Argentinian bastard. :(

Alli - 6.5. Although he comes out about par, it's honestly a disappointing season for him by his standards - has struggled to impose his authority on games, has looked ephemeral and frustrated far too often, and has reached his usual highs too rarely. It's forgivable, because he's been playing without a midfield behind him for most of it - but hopefully he improves next season.

Eriksen - 6.5. See above. Neither has particularly impressed, although, as mentioned, extenuating circumstances abound. The single most important thing for this summer, however, is making damn sure *he stays*. Get on it, Levy.

Sonny - 9. Was a close runner-up for Player of the Season. Struggled with fixture congestion all the way up until the New Year, but once that exemption from military service was secured, he played like a man possessed. Our saviour more times than I care to mention, and our light of cheerfulness in some grim times, always playing with his head up and with a smile on his face. Nice one, Sonny - nice one, Son. :)

N'Koudou - 10. One game, one cross, one last-minute goal by Winksy. Difference-maker, master manipulator, lightning with the ladies - what's not to like? As long as he moves somewhere else this summer, of course. Please. :p

Harry - 7.5. Not up to his usual standards, but he's had an injury-hit season, and has looked unfit for most of it. I hope Gareth Southgate fudges off and lets him rest - Nations League can do one. Knowing Harry, though, he'll want to go. anyway. :(

Fernando - 7.5. As Mourinho said with authority, 'his chest is the link to everything'. Oh, Fernando - you beautiful, lanky, battering ram of a man. You're not a good footballer, but you stepped up when we needed someone, anyone to do so - animo, el Rey de Leon. :)

Janssen - N/A. Fresh fade, I guess.

Poch - 10. What can I say about this man that hasn't already been said? I love you, Poch, and Tottenham loves you too, and always will. Please stay. :(

Levy - 7.5. Ruinously risky transfer window, but truly excellent work with the stadium, and as I said, the delays weren't his fault at all. However, if we have another penny-pinching transfer window like the last one...well, let's just hope we don't, and he finally puts his hand in his pocket now. He has no other choice.

Special mentions -

Tottenham Ladies - 10. They're up! We're going to take the Women's Super League by storm next year, and the Ladies' will be changing their name to reflect the professionalisation of the women's game more broadly. Hats off to them!

Ellie Markham - Amazing stuff, and if she or her dad are reading by any chance, don't ever let a few people get you down. You're better than that.
