OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Ajax - the second leg

Well that went well!
Can only hope they think the job is already done and we come out of the traps and get a goal straight away
Get trippier and Wanyama off, Lamela and whoever else looks like they want it on

The painful thing is we have had chances.

Exactly, and we do every game, we score almost every game. But our defenders ain't worth a light at the moment, I include Toby and Jan in that. They look like 2 average centre-halves flanked by an average left-back and a really poor right-back. We have lost so many games this season and this is why imo. Our attacking players do create and score their fair share. The defenders do not do their phucking job.

The desire talk is fudging cliched flimflam. We've created enough chances to be ahead in the tie. We just haven't been clinical in front of goal, which to be honest has been symptomatic of our season.

If we can score early second half you never know what could happen.. It'd give the team a shot in the arm, which we definitely need.
And if Son's post hitting shot (like theirs in the first leg) and been two inches different we'd have equalized. I know about balls and the gender of parental siblings, but we have had our chances too.

The Dier coming back from appendix op/tonsillitis and his hip injury from the England game? The unfit Dier? That would be a great choice.

Where as Trippier is be a fantastic choice all season?

Hes cost us 2 goals tonight and partly at fault for the goal in first leg.

Especially with no ball playing centre mids. What would you give to have a fit Winks and still have Dembele instead of Sissoko and Wanyama
Quite. With Winks injured, Dier not fit yet and Dembele on the scrap heap it's impossible to have any kind of possession.

The fact that he's forged any kind of a team when he has to pick Wanyama and Sissoko in midfield is a miracle

They're not that good though. Spurs of 15-16 would destroy them
You can only beat what is in front of you though.
This team has reached the CL semi - we should be enjoying it.
If you want total football every week and all the best players, go and support Barcelona.

Let's enjoy this.

Trippier has been making those type of mistakes forever.
The real difference is Lucas as a striker and the resurrected corpse of a barely sentient post knee injury Wanyama in midfield.

Get Dier and Llorente on at least.

We have not played that bad. But we can't seem to hit a barn door at the moment and we have had some bad luck. Son nearly scores, also had a good chance in front of goal, Moura straight at the keeper.

Their one clear chance and it's in. They are so full of confidence. They play with swagger and energy. But there is space to get at them. It just feels nothing is going for us in this game at all.

Stop it with the perspective again! We're brick and every player is brick and poch is an idiot and Levy, you clown, the new stadium isn't all that, and we belong in the championship, really. :p
THIS. I'm off to get a half and half Goon/Cheat$ki scarf.

Toby/Jan are suffering from CM having a free run at them and also having to keep an eye on the full backs.

This is fudging awful. Can't believe that I'm considering taking the dog for a walk rather than watch us in a CL semi final ffs.

We've no mission, Wanyama needs subbed, they're running rings around him - again. Bring Skipp on - can't do any worse. And the Ref is a bit of a homer.

Our problem all season has been poor first half performances. Seems to me there is something wrong with our preparations.

I'm not defending Trippier, who has been awful. I'm also not suggesting an unfit Dier as his replacement. That idea came from....

Because we are doing a rebuild. Ajax as a club have won more CL/European cups that us, Emirates Marketing Project, Arse and Chelsea put together. They have a decades long tradition of youth development and are playing at full strength tonight. 15 years ago our season was over in March if we weren't fighting relegation fears.

We were desperate for Europe via the fair pay league back then
