The Official 2018/19 Premier League Thread

Brighton probably should have won it at the end and we'd not have the option to mess it up last day of the season but not complaining, absolutely incredible and what a psychologial difference is makes going into the Semi against Ajax without the stress of worrying about qualifying for next season. Could be the extra incentive we need to go there and put on a really good show.

How more annoying is that late Bournemouth now. Could have sent out the reserves next Sunday, as it is, you can never count anything out with Tottenham.

But my GHod if we blow an 8-goal advantage on the last day, with us being at home and Arsenal away, it will the Spursyest thing EVER

Arsenal win chucks us out the group stage I believe if finish 4th
If Arsenal win it adds a 5th English team, no idea what % they’d get compared to the other teams though? If they won it and we won CL nothing would be affected as it’s 5 clubs max. The only scenario where the team finishing 4th misses out is if teams finishing lower than 4th win both Europa and CL. There’s also no qualifying round for the 4th placed team but the distribution of money is higher the higher up the league you finish.

I didn't think so. If they win, we (England) just get a 5th spot straight into the group stages. But may have that wrong.

Looks like you are correct -although doesn’t really clear it up

Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Champions League they will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season's competition regardless of their league finishing position.

Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Europa League they will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season's UEFA Champions League regardless of their league finishing position.

A maximum of five Premier League teams are eligible for UEFA Champions League qualification.

In the event that a Premier League club win the UEFA Champions League and another win the UEFA Europa League and neither of these clubs finish in the top four of the Premier League, the club lying fourth in the table will drop into the UEFA Europa League group stage.
