Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Does anyone think they'll actually miss WHL once we're up and running at the new stadium?

NWHL looks amazing, and if the atmosphere is as good as it's promised to be, I personally think I won't. Which is strange of course because I loved the old lady and was sad to see her go, and I always thought it would never be the same in a new stadium. But as building has progressed, boy has NWHL won me over. I can't wait to go there for the first time.

I could be wrong of course, maybe NWHL will feel too plastic and corporate and over hyped, but somehow I don't think so. I think - and It's a sad thing to say - that WHL will become a faded memory faster than I thought.

The main bit I'll miss is the Bill Nich gates/entrance by the side road next to the old White Hart pub. I remember fondly the hours stood round there as a kid getting autographs from Sheringham, Ginola, Anderton etc.

I really wish we'd gone for the design that kept the 4 old houses. The brown wall thing in their place looks a bit crap.

Otherwise the outside of the east stand was architecturally ok. But everything else was about the vibe, not the buildings.

On a serious note I'm not posting to boost my post count at all. Im a superstitious kinda girl and do believe that if we reach 1000 posts we will become closer to opening the ground. Albeit I do believe the posts should be legitimate and not just one worded responses. For example I wear spurs socks on match days and don't post in match threads on here at the moment. I also only watch a minimum of 45 minutes of the game every time without fail too.

And a maximum of 45 minutes too, right?

I’ve just realised that if it wasn’t for my efforts to drag this thread to 1000 pages I might have had a 1:1 like to post ratio! Talk about team player!!

Flippin’ ‘eck! That’s still very impressive. Never noticed before.

Yeah - Maracana and Wembley are the two in a class of their own. The home of football and the world's biggest
Maracana isn't the biggest. It holds the record for the biggest one-game attendance (ca 200,000, if I'm not mistaken), but don't ask how they got that many people in. As a matter of fact, if you go inside the stadium it doesn't look big at all.

I’m averaging 1.3 posts a day. I think that’s pretty restrained actually!

I rarely post in player threads unless I have something new or relevant to say. Otherwise those places are just back and forth rows on whether player x is better than player y, followed by loads of statistics!

Match day threads are often where I’m busy, but that’s since I deactivated my twitter account. Quite enjoy the live interaction!

Other than that Random used to be my favourite place, but that’s gone to brick a bit in recent years!
