Vincent Janssen

It would even top Sissoko's phoenix from the flames rebirth.

In terms of being completely out in the cold it absolutely would.

Sissoko was never frozen out, he was just rubbish and never really in with a shout.

Pochettino has explicitly said, more than once "Jansen isnt in my plans" and wont play etc.

While I think it is a completely sensible and pragmatic decision to include him now - I am a little surprised.

I’m waiting for someone to say this is a sign Kane’s out for the rest of the season...

Can only think Janssen as apologised or committed to stop / start doing something that irked Poch so much to completely exclude him. Perhaps Vincent has set his heart on making it here, turned down permanent and loan moves as a sign of his commitment which in turn tinkled Poch off as he wanted to cash in on him but he now acknowledges that commitment to the team!

I still think the only way Janssen is ever going to play for us again (with no dead rubber/easy cup games left) is if we lose 8 on the bounce, Poch gets sacked, and Fat Sam gets the 'any port in a storm' phonecall

I still think Janssen is more suited to our style of play as we don't seem to adapt when Llorente plays.

I agree with that to an extent. We always seem to be reluctant to put crosses in when Llorente is on the pitch despite it clearly being the best tactic for him. With Janssen, I always thought his hold up play was good....though thats more of use to a struggling team which needs to get up the pitch more. He can finish, its just his movement was cr*p and given we usually dominate possession, we need forwards with good movement to drag defenders around.

All that said, I'd much rather a chance drops to Janssen's feet in the box than Llorente's, so I dont see us being weaker if we player Janssen rather than Llorente

That wasn't the case against Watford. We put plenty of crosses in and our game suffered as a result. Llorente is not good enough for us to change our game to accommodate.
