Cardiff striker's plane goes missing

A small plane carrying Cardiff's new signing from Nantes, Emilio Sala, apparently disappeared off the radar just north of Guernsey. Not seen much reports on this yet.

its awful, fearing the worst. The guy was coming over to play in the prem and it looks as if he never will.

Its a real shocker.

And the longer the search goes without success the less likely he will be found alive.

Horrible to say, but theres every chance that point has already passed.

Awful news. Hopefully they have crash landed somewhere and are safe but that is very unlikely.

Why get a light aircraft like that though is beyond me. Would much rather get a commercial jet or private jet than a propelled plane. I'm not the best flyer though and thats coming from someone who has a brother who is a pilot and wife who is cabin crew.

Depends entirely on where you're going from/to.

Sometimes a light aircraft is easier than travelling somewhere that a larger aircraft/commercial can fly from.

Such a tragedy. :( Hopefully there will be a miracle and they're found alive.

Warning - way too premature remark, in very poor taste below.

Surprised this didn't happen with our on loan, Kane replacement striker, judging by our luck so far this season.

Sorry.

No distress call as far as we know? Seemingly just feel out the sky.

Miniscule chance of being found alive now - 24 hours later, in darkness, in freezing waters. Would take a DL easyjet flight over light aircraft in winter everyday. Had the medical and signing been completed? Are clubs insured to cover such a freak loss?

The plane was a Piper Malibu, looks a bit lightweight for me, but then I am no expert.

It is really tragic
