American Werewolf In London is the first of three John Landis films in this. He had a great run of films from Animal House through to Trading Places. It's been a long time since I saw it but I loved Coming To America as a kid too

I’d rank the Landis in this competition with Werewolf first, Blues Brothers second and Trading Places a distant third. It won’t pan out like that, though.

Werewolf by a distance. Ferris is a great movie, but American Werewolf is one of the best horror movies made.
