Summer 2018 transfer thread

its all complete nonsense. Its like a benign dictatorship over there.I think he just enjoys yanking them around first despair then hope and then despair again.
They run a tight ship no one out of 4 or 5 people know anything about transfers and wouldn't be loose with the info.

Poch talked of the club being brave in this window

I don't recall Poch saying anything about being brave in this window. Unless I am mistaken, I believe that comments were quite vague. From the BBC

"If we want to be real contenders for big, big trophies, we need to review a little," Pochettino said.

First of all, I need to speak with Daniel, then we will know what we are going to do. I think it's a moment the club needs to take risks and if possible work harder than the previous season to be competitive again."

"I think I have a very clear idea what we need to do; I don't know if the club will be agreeing with me or not," Pochettino said.

"But we are going to talk, next week, to create the new project, or what I think what we need to do, together again, to try to improve.

"That is a little bit up to Daniel of course, to the club, to be happy with us, because after four years I think we need to assess that period.

"I think Daniel is going to listen to me. But you know me and sometimes I have some crazy ideas.

"In this type of situation, with a club with our unbelievable fans, being brave is the most important, and to take risks."

Yeah I remember taking his comments at the time as meaning being brave in the transfer market, but some rightly pointing out he should have been talking about anything. Really curious as to what he was referring to though....

It's just typical Poch not airing things in public. It was clearly a message aimed at Levy but him signing a new contract a couple of weeks later, suggests that he got the answers he wanted.

Well it obviously was not about transfers.

Daniel Levy said the new Stadium will not get in the way of transfers!
and I agree with him,for whats the point of having a World class Stadium without signing any
World class players to play in it...

"will not get in the way of transfers".........no mention of world class players there

Frustrating seeing links with attackers when for me the glaring area for us is in CM.

Anyway this is atypical of Levy. It seems his obsession with negotiating in his trademark way has left us in a place where if we get some new players they will not have had much of a pre-season.
