Impressive set of lungs on her, but those lyrics are terrible. Were they written by a school child? Totes cringe fam, ya get me blud?

Ahh, nothing like a harsh blast of Canadian winter to drive us indoors and snuggling under the headphones to stay warm and entertained.

Here's a talented 20-year-old - a triumph of substance over style - with a solid backup band, sure to be a staple at American summer festivals:

And then there's Vulfpeck. Funk-loving, lounge-lizard musical anarchists who just love to arse around with musical and entertainment conventional wisdom. And for that, they are now smokin' hot. Joe Dart is just a killer bassist. Here's one from a coupla years back.

And live:

And this is just the silliest video ever shot. Most of this video takes place in the centre circle of a football pitch. It kicks off about the two minute mark and simply begs for future videos to be done involving entire football club squads to provide comedy relief at training:

But they are on tour this spring and sold out for three nights here in Toronto. You'll spend a testicle or two now to get a ticket.

Dear me. What the actual fuc.k? This bassist guy seems to be auditioning for the role of biggest taco in the world. And he got the part. I believe the North American vernacular is 'douche'?
Don't get me started on that last video. Jesus.

Douche!? Ha ha ha.

No. Not even close. Joe Dart is supremely talented, lively on stage, well appreciated by fans and media and a total team player - anything but a douche. I can't imagine how they'll do it, but Vulfpeck will just have to manage without your approval.

As for that last video, you can't be serious about taking that seriously. That's just them clowning around. Showing us their notes, if you will, as they try stuff out. And it's already pulled a quarter million youtube views. I'm not their biggest fan, but my son was at one of their three sold out London shows last fall and, like many in their early 20s, absolutely adores their gritty, greasy, low-fi approach to entertaining. I can dig that. He's dug it enough that he's joined a part time band, playing cheesy electric piano. Him and his pals have discovered that chicks dig fun music.

At one time, I was an expert in pop music. Earned a decent part of my livelihood from CBS and Sony music. Now, we elders have much to learn.

One good album is not the basis for the first career they had, never mind a second. Added to that, Liam is a total twunt.

Saw them a few years back, and it wasn't good, some things should be left as memories, I guess.

I'm on a reggae trip at the moment. May be due to the weather.

Yeah, yeah, I know "freestyle" isn't really full-on freestyle, but I still enjoyed this massively. :D

Saw the reformed Guns'n Roses this summer, and while the nostalgia was skyrocketing and the evening generally very entertaining, about one third of the setlist was dross and Axl's singing voice clearly wasn't up for some of the songs. At times it was embarrassing to listen to. Great fun to have them back on stage together though.
