James Maddison

Yet

For some strange reason no big teams are linked with him. Everton is the biggest that I've read about.

I'd like him too, by the way, and would help with our English quota.

Im sure bigger clubs are looking at players like Maddison and are possibly interested too but as a news story it doesn't generate much interest compared to big name links to foreign stars.

He would be a gamble though as he has to step up to the big league

For me he has the talent and also the work rate from what I’ve seen

His goals are general great finishes and he can pass well too

Reminds me of eriksen at Ajax

It may happen but Norwich are trying to get him to stay another season , he is only 21 and they are trying to convince him that another year will be of benefit to him. Apparently he is not pushing for a move so i guess we will see.

Good for Norwich. I'm hoping Farke has a good run with them next season. By all accounts the Norwich players seem behind him and recognise the good work he is doing, it just hasn't click in terms of results yet. He would be the perfect Eriksen back up but would almost have the same problem as anyone coming to back up Kane...Eriksen is in undroppable territory and he won't get too many games. If I were Saudi Sportswashing Machine, I'd go for Maddison. Would be the best move for him, if Chelsea didn't feel he could handle the 'pressure' of Qarabag away this coming season.

Norwich will be interesting, Maddison and Murphy came alive toward the end of the season and if they can keep those two - could be a good prospect.

If, also, Farkes tactics bed in. They were a very typical team in transition last season, some excellent games and some awful - no consistency. If they can build up that consistency I see no reason why they cant have a good run at promotion.

MADDISON TO LEICESTER?

Leicester are in pole position to sign Norwich midfielder James Maddison, according to Press Association Sport.

The Foxes are leading the chase for the 21-year-old and pushing hard to complete a deal.

Norwich are likely to demand over £20m for Maddison, who scored 14 goals in the Sky Bet Championship last season.

Leicester are poised to sell Riyad Mahrez to Emirates Marketing Project and landing highly-rated Maddison would be a coup for the Foxes.Everton remain interested following Marco Silva's appointment but Maddison is keen on a switch to the King Power Stadium, which would take him closer to his home town of Coventry.

Fulham are sniffing allegedly!

So I see

FULHAM JOIN MADDISON RACE

Fulham are the latest Premier League club interested in signing Norwich City’s player of the year James Maddison.

A host of Premier League teams continue to monitor the England U21s progress include Liverpool, Everton, Spurs, Emirates Marketing Project and Southampton.

The former Coventry midfielder, signed for £2.5m in 2016, is presently recovering from a knee ligament injury suffered at Sheffield Wednesday on the last day of the season.

SSN understands the 21-year old, who scored 15 goals last season, is recovering ahead of schedule from the injury and is due to begin running again in July.

With parachute payments now coming to an end, Norwich look set to cash in on Maddison - and are looking to recoup £20-£25m for him.

Ohhh yes, if Leceister sell Mahrez, that's a great move for Maddison. Fulham probably will stay up but they may still be too much of a risk.

Some risk there, be interesting if any of us/Pool/City will really go for it, or if he will end up at the Leicester/Fulham/Everton level.

Its a tough one. A few seasons back it would be a no brainer, but now? I would wonder, from his POV, if he would get the games here he needs to progress - or if a season at Fulham, in the premiership (for example) would serve him better.
