Ingerlund

Maguire seems to play that well enough for England. I've no idea which side he plays for club.

So if Southgate persists with Walker as a CB it could be Walker-Stones-Maguire. Otherwise, Maguire-Stones-Cahill as you suggest might be best, as then Walker plays wing-back.

Plays left side for Leicester
But played right for Hull

I’m a big Maguire fan

Reasoning behind walker wing back is his pace scares the best players whereas crossing is defendable if your organised

Just read Southgate had misgivings about Shelvey has he has a lower pass completion rate than Henderson, Cook and Livermore.

Well yeh - of course - he tries things. He's not a sideways and backwards safety merchant.

Yeah he is more ambitious with his passing, but is that the whole story?

The most recent Shelvey 'full-match' video I could find was this one - where almost everything ambitious that he tries fails to comes off! Is that performance representative, or was he particularly bad in it? (Not having a dig - genuine question)

He has more bookings than assists which for me highlights the affectivity element

Could be argued he is playing with some poor players though

So I am off to Wembley tomorrow hoping to see the likes of Dier, Kane, Rose, Dele and Trippier crash and burn.

Kinda strange wanting Kane to be barren in front of.goal but maybe he should save his goals for England's next match

My hope for tomorrow is injuries to Welbeck and Cahill, to allow us to call up better alternatives from the standbys

I had been wondering whether or not Southgate would drop Alli back into CM with out lack of progressive players back there.

It could be a very good move, but a lot will depend on Alli stepping up to that role. I'd imagine he will combine well with Kane, whilst Sterling and Lingard will be willing runners into the space.

In the mid-90s Nigeria were supposed to be the next big footballing powerhouse, but it never really happened (WC 94 didn't go as well as expected IIRC) and they kind of got overtaken by Ghana and Cameroon.

I know there are a few Nigerians on here. What's a quick potted history of what happened/where you are at now?
